I did a little googling:google:, but it wasn't much help. Can any of you here point me to information about buying a shock knife?

Does anyone know if they are even legal everywhere? The places I pulled them up, didn't seem to have an easy price list to find.

    My google-fu is lame apparently.

I have this crazy idea and I want to see if I could pull it together or not.

My Sifu said something recently about hoping Santa might buy him a shock knife. He said it as an aside talking about knife sparring.

But it got me thinking. Maybe I could pool the regular students at my school together and we could get him one to show our appreciation for all he does.

I have no idea if they are even at a price range that this could happen or not. If they cost thousands, it won't be possible. Or where to buy ones that are of good quality. Or if they are legal here. I really know nothing about them at all. Can someone out there get me started?

If tazors are legal in your state shock knives will be legal, if there not, shock knives might be depending on the wording of the state law, and hows its applied.

I would be wary of using one on anyone with heart problems, and id want to get an ecg check over first.
But that is based on my lack of knowledge of shock knives.

The shock is nowhere near enough to trigger cardiac issues

I am not a big fan of them myself - they are actually quite fragile, you cannot stab or thrust with them and even the shock noise ceases to activate visceral triggers after a while

We use them quite a bit in the academy training for our edged weapon work and my opinion hasn't changed much on them
