My mother has tarsal tunnel and I'm trying to relieve her pain. I can relieve some of it by using the pressure points on the top of the foot between the toes but I want to do more for her. What is the best point to use for numbing that foot temporarily? I've numbed her whole leg before but that made her nervous so I just want to numb the foot.

Take her to an accupressure specialist

No, she trusts I know what I'm doing. I wouldn't use any point unless I knew exactly what it did. I won't risk hitting something that would make her drop dead in 7 years. It was just too unnerving for her to not feel a leg. A foot wouldn't unnerve her as much.

She doesn't want to spend the money and I wouldn't know how to find a reputable one.

I guess I should consult my Erle Montaigue books.

With respect learning from books and You Tube videos doesn't equate to a certification and expertise in acupressure.

It's the same with learning martial arts. It can feel right, but when you cross hands with a trained practitioner you realise there are gaps in your training. Sometimes very large gaps.

Let me clarify, I am by no means an expert and I do not claim to be. I know a few very basic points and those are all I use. I wouldn't use any others and would never go by a youtube video.
Come to think of it, I probably shouldn't be asking about a pressure point on here.
I should be asking how can I find a reputable acupressure specialist?
She also wants to go to get acupuncture. How do I find a reputable acupuncture specialist as well?

Probably writing this too late, there is a bilateral point on each knee, that when massaged give a certain amount of pain relief, to save on language barriers the common name is the 3 mile point, the meridian point is stomach 35.
Whilst sitting with the knees bent place your palms on top of your knees then bend your fingers over the knees and spread your fingers in a comfortable spread, under your 3rd finger (2nd smallest) you will find a recess, place your finger in the recess and apply medium pressure and massage in a circular motion, after about 30 seconds or so stop, this point in both knees is called the 3 mile point because after a massage it gives marathon runners another 3 miles.
It may not work if you are on certain medication, alcohol or recreational drugs.
