This is the most pop I went (still lots of naughty talking): [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un3NkWnHl9Q"]Busta Rhymes - Gimme Some More [Explicit] - YouTube[/ame] And here's some great hard East coast stuff, weirdly introduced to me by a kid from one of the roughest estates in Britain, who I met on holiday in Crete... Non MAP friendly video removed.
You must be young, grasshopper. 17 years ago seems recent to me None of that stuff had enough poignant social commentary or triplets in it for my tastes... but I am old school
Video removed. Amy more like this and you face a ban. Check the ToS regarding bad language. So not old but, the first song i heard in relation to W vs E. I already was on the right, true, God given, only side. I still remember when a friend came with the CD video to make me copy it on my CD writer and i said no, IT'S ILLEGAL.
Ha! That's so gangsta! A few years earlier, Mr. Cube gave us a prescient tune about the coming dominance of the smooth West coast style (he has a filthy potty mouth): Video removed. Saying he has a potty mouth won't cut it. I never got into Tupac...
One does not just not get in to 2 Pac... That's like saying Ronda R is an international superstrar because she has more then fighting skills (she is hot). 2Pac has proven scientifically that the W>E, and i'm not even from the US. I've been through this thread and removed several videos. Remember we are a family friendly site and putting in a "contains swears" isn't acceptable. You are responsible for the content you post on MAP, so if it contains bad language you risk a ban. Just because this is a Hip Hop thread doesn't mean bad language is acceptable.
Old school ( should'nt that be "skool " ? ) hip hop and no mention yet of Grandmaster flash or the Sugar hill gang - that ain't right ... [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4o8TeqKhgY"]Grandmaster Flash The Message HQ - YouTube[/ame]
Not old school but there's only one hip hop band that matter. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvuxYxmlfrc"]Goldie Lookin Chain - Fresh Prince of Cwmbran - YouTube[/ame]
Many kids today would be shocked to hear Dr Dre Started here... [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDUMPj-0Za4"]Dr Dre-Surgery (1985) - YouTube[/ame] For me being an ex break dancer it has to be this tune. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNsMEP0i8aM"]Beat Street Roxy Battle - YouTube[/ame] We also have Ice-T and Chris "the glove" Taylor. It's the movie that got all the kids out in the park with their roll of lino'. Perhaps the kids of today should do the same.
The ORIGINAL Gangster - this is still one of my favourite tracks ever. It blew me away when I first heard it and still does [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZekLIdcwLM"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZekLIdcwLM[/ame] Classic "dance" hip hop - always a great "pump up" track [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ulMQOC1Lac"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ulMQOC1Lac[/ame] Some Uk flavor [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nGsiM-8hiE"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nGsiM-8hiE[/ame] And of course........ Of course Hip Hop isn't the music, it's the culture. so let's not forget the graffiti artists. http://www.widewalls.ch/10-new-york-graffiti-legends-still-kicking-ass/
