In my uni gym there is an annoying thing. On many of the machines, there is no table telling you hoe much you're lifting! You can only go by what number weight you're lifting (eg 1 through 20). I was wondering if there is a standard for these machines that someone could point me towards? It's a bit of a hinderance at the moment trying to work out targets!
I'm not sure you'd even need to know how much you're lifting. Not on some machines anyway. With some of them you have to factor in any leverage issues and sometimes multiple pulleys. So, where you might be moving say 50kg up and down on a bench machine, this won't necessarily translate to a 50kg freeweight bench.
