I found the best thing with burgers is just experiment! Split up your meat into four different bowls and flavoir each differently and see what your prefer. Onion cam be crunchy unless you cook it out first. Some of the things i like adding are, dried mixed herbs, garlic, mustard, dried chilli, worcester sauce. Or if you want to be unhealthy make them cheese centered...
Think I'd use fresh chilli although I might try some dried cashmere chilli's just to see how that works. I've recently found a liking for blue cheese but it'll have to live on top I am the epitomey of unhealthyness
You might want to cook your chillis out a bit first then otherwise they might be a bit raw but sure it would taste good.
yeah, i've used bread crumbs for this, but i'll be trying the oats for sure when i get back home. looking forwards to seeing what abominations i'll invariably end up making @moi: not that i saw, but i definitely like a bit of herbs mixed in when possible. speaking of which, have you ever had chimichurri? most epic condiment ever when put on meat dishes.
Super Crisp Wings with a Kick! *Chicken Wings *Eggs *Breadcrumbs (Panko or otherwise) *Chilli Flakes *Cooking Oil Spray Sticking with my "Keeping It Stupidly Simple". Grab a bowl, beat some eggs (1 or 2 are enough depending on how many wings you make). When well whisked, place the wings in the egg bowl. Grab another bowl and fill that one with the breadcrumbs. I like to add chilli flakes with this. Take your (now dripping in egg) wings and dip them in the crumbs and coat as much as possible. *note: this does get your fingers a bit "gungey" so may have to wash your hands in between wings. Smack your oven grill on at 180°. Line up your meat on the rack, a bit of cooking spray to lube it up and slot it in. Turn after 10>15mins and leave for another 10>15 or till done. Alternatively you can fry them but under the grill is healthier. You can also just place it in the oven. To summarise .., dip in egg, dip in breadcrumbs, put in preferred manner of cooking, eat.
speaking of chimichurri: http://youtu.be/QNUNQPhbr1I i generally prefer it with less liquid and more herbs (and spicier), but there's a ton of ways to make it. the meat lovers among you should DEFINITELY give this a try.
Chicken Wing series continues! Slice up the wings via the joints and place in a bowl. Marinade in some light soya sauce and leave in the fridge a couple hours or over night. Heat up a pan/wok with oil. Throw (figuratively) the chicken on the oil and stir it about to colour. Open a can of Coke/Diet Coke and pour it on. Close with a lid and let simmer in medium heat for 10min. Take lid off and chicken should be mostly cooked through and turn heat to high. Stir fry now and again, the sauce should thicken and reduce. When the chicken is cooked, serve on a plate. As the chicken cools, the sauce thickens further. It comes out kinda like a coke/sweet bbq flavour.
I dont think i have photos of my chicken wings. Basically Roast 8 wings in oven with plenty of sea salt at 180 Fahrenheit for 30 mins. Remove wing tips. Mix together 2 table spoons of thai sweet chili sauce, a drop of soy sauce, a table spoon of tamarind paste, 2 table spoons of vinegar, a tea spoon of ginger and garlic paste and a table spoon or 2 of sugar. Heat up a wok and when sizzling (water should sizzle on it instantly) add in the wings and get them a little browned. Then turn the heat to medium low and add the mixed sauce to coat the wings and add a full cup of water (half for a thicker sauce) as well as a a few kaffir lime leaves. Let the mixture reduce and stir often till you have a sticky sauce. Eat with rice and some salty or pickled veg (cabbage, beansprouts etc)
Can we post "naughty" recipes or cheat day recipes in this thread? Or possibly an idea for another thread?
Have you been spying on me? I did some sweet treats for the gf the other day and I wondered if anyone would be imterested.
You should try spreading Nutella on a coconut. Damn, I've just eaten a whole coconut without even realising.
No, but I could try. I bet that tastes good with Nutella. I'd probably even eat a tyre as long as there's Nutella on it.
Of course we need naughty recipes. ill post the valentines day desert i made last year with a video tomorrow.
Anyone got any "exciting" vegetarian recipes? Any of my food is essentially lots of veg + a sauce of some kind + rice / pasta / tofu Speaking to some vegetarians I know, (mostly Asian/Indian) its pretty much the same as well. And some Veggies I know, can't cook. So their food is amazingly boring and basic. So....any ideas? Note: I'm not going full vegetarian. Just trying to add more to my food cooking/nutritional arsenal.
