The strange thing each year with the MAP Meet threads is that I end up getting lots of thanks for the pictures and videos, but honestly the thanks should go to everyone who gave their time and money to travel to join likeminded and make the day something to remember. The MOD Team are already discussing the 2018 event, which I will book in the next couple of weeks. It'll probably be in June again. It will be ... AWESOME
Aaaah, no, no! May! Make it May! Or July! Eeeeh, don't mind me, just I would really like to come once, but June is usually full of karate events I wouldn't want to miss! ....so a rant has to be done for the peace of my mind Really it looks like the meet was really great. And as for Simon's previous question who watched the life videos: Unfortunately I wasn't able to as I was abroad and with not a very good wifi and ehm.... part of the time I was on the road, part sleeping after the road. I enjoy seeing the photos, though!
I tried to make the elbow my avatar, but no luck! If we want to do a midlands mini meet I can get us a hall in Bridgnorth, with nearby parking and probably borrow some mats from my instructor, and get some more?
My apologies for not posting more here folks, but I went straight from the MAP Meet to working on another charity event I help with each year. That has now finished, so I'll have time to get my remaining videos uploaded, sorry for the delay.
You snuck that without me noticing! Got my best angle too, hidden behind the camera As revenge, I've never seen these two together...
Keith watched me throw an uppercut as part of a question and gave me a ton of stuff to work on in a few seconds; not because my uppercut was so mechanically wrong, but because it lacked his decades of experience. He strikes me (pun intended) as an old school boxing coach with a lot of knowledge to impart, and as someone used to working in old school boxing gyms. Someone you could work with for years and still be learning from. Proper. Mitch
Short video of the MAP Meet. I've stuck to using just pictures otherwise it would have been too long.
