Things like that will work on his students because they are more conditioned through previous experences to move before the physcial takes place.

The student mind is over aware of the teachers movements from previous experences with instructor, or his mind is over focused on what the instructor is doing. If the student wanted to, he could block out his awareness and not respond to the teachers actions.

If you can capture the attention of someone to a certain degree then it is like jedi mind tricks.

Ahh Mr. Hood - I see you are commenting on thinsg related to a more esoteric version of chi again. Would you furnish us all with yoru lineage so we can get an idea of teh genesis of your sage advice and opinions?

Note I am asking for a lineage, not what books you have read

    Perhaps I was unclear...

You are consistently offering advice on a controversial topic that is - at best - an unproven phenomena and - at worst - bunk. You are polemical in your statements and dismissive of any contrary view with little to back up your position.

In order to get a grasp on the genesis, and the veracity, of your statements and claims I believe that your lineage is an essential starting point.

Teh reason i ask for lineage and not what books you have read is based purely on the (non) answers you regularly trot out

Pleas enote that a refusal to answer is tantamount to admitting you have NO experience or lineage. In the interest of fairness I will expose my bias and state that this is the position I believe to be true from the get go. So now the ball is in your court

    So - lineage?

You can quote the parks where you have encountered the 'Real Deal' if you want.

There are a quite number of folk on this forum genuinely interested in IMA and the Nejia arts. There are a few members (including myself) who have trained in TCC and Aikido.

Whenever we try to have sensible and fruitful discussions on these subjects (and recently there has been a mild improvement); it only takes 1 or 2 spoofters to mess it all up.

Hence, Robin if you wish to be taken seriusly, I suggest you de-cloak yourself and expand upon what (if any) experience you have . No experience is absolutely cool - this is an internet forum not a dojo.

This is a very fair comment. We allow members to be anonymous because not everyone on the internet can be trusted, but robinhood, you cannot even answer a direct question on your lineage. This is what is causing thread derailment. You need to back up your claims.

I am afraid that no matter how you think your posts are coming across, or how much help you thing you are giving, you are not being taken seriously.

If your friend did indeed study Aikido then I'd have to be of the opinion that this is some form of Ki Aikido. I'd also suggest your friend finds a new dojo. Even if it's another Ki Aikido dojo.

Something people have to keep in mind when talking about Ki Aikido is "Ki Aikido" is a generic term. It's not the proper name of the art and a number of schools and organisation use that term to describe what it is they teach.

When talking about Ki Aikido as in the art Koichi Tohei founded after leaving the Aikikai, the proper name is Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido. There are no Jedi involved.

There are however a number of individuals involved in Ki Aikido in general who will abuse the western understanding of Ki and the fact that Ki Aikido tends to be very compliant. These people are to be avoided.
