Today myself (among many other Hapkido instructors), received a curt message from the North American organizer of the June KHF seminar and Dan testing that it was CANCELLED, due to leadership and organizational disputes. Is ANYONE out there at all surprized??? Stick a fork in the KHF, they're done like dinner here in North America. ANY possible credibility which they MIGHT have gained through the big event in June is now down the drain!!!! Bring out the knives and all the "I told you so people" will now have a field day. The last opportunity to develop a KHF organization which puts Hapkido first and INCLUDES those of us in North America who have those goals has been squandered. Infighting and egos in Korea have once again proven why many of us were NOT involved with and now will NEVER be involved with the KHF. Apparently, they did not understand the importance of the event if the KHF was to have ANY future here in NA. Sad day for the future of Hapkido. The more things change, the more things stay the same. I'm sorry to hear that... especially for those who planned to attend. I really don't have any idea what the plans were, but it sounds like it was supposed to be something good. I hope things work out for the diappointed students (and instructors).
