Well, I haven't started a martial art, but I will take Hapkido in a few weeks(Provided the school isn't a McDojo), so that puts me at age 17.

im thinking of cross training in hapkido to buddy, since ive spent more then a decade away from my chosen art of TKD theres quite a lot more selfdefence/locks/takedowns involved in the sylabus, and I beleave hapkido, akido, kuk sool type training would give me some better hand cordination.

best of luck with the introduction into martial arts and hope your instructors type of guy who knows how to pace a student on a weekly basis

I have practiced Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwon since 2006 at 12 years old.

I'd like to get into some grappling arts, preferably Brazilian Jujitsu since I have a great set of training DVD's by Renzo Gracie and Craig Kukuk. Hopefully I will be able to get into some of that in the next few years.

I started Judo and Ju Jitsu at 9-10. (1964ish) To save costs way back then, my Judo instructor shared the same training floor with my Ju Jitsu instructor. They were friends and trying to save some overhead costs by sharing

Started Japanese GoJu Ryu when I was around 8...no kids classes. Just sitting on a wooden floor in seiza, shutting the F up until it was my turn to practice. Good discipline for a kid that age.

I was first exposed at age 8.

I began practicing at age 12 with Boxing, and then Shorin Ryu.

I am 22 now with experience in many styles. I consider my base to be Boxing, Kickboxing (Western + Thai), and Tae Kwon Do though.
