Having just passed my 1st kyu, ill be in the market for a decent, thick Judo belt at somepoint in the future, I've just got my blitz one through the post, and its really thin and cheap (which it was) feeling, which I don't want my shodan one being. Blackeagle used to do great BJJ and judo belts, but their no longer in business. Suggestions please.
Bear in mind the big thick judo belts are not competition legal anymore (can still wear them in training though). Fighting films makes good belts, as does Mizuno.
Try here. I know the gis are bomb proof and I would expect the belts are too. http://www.howardliu.com/catalog/accessories/belts.htm
Congrats DeadPool! Have you considered getting one from somewhere like Fuji Sports or other big brand judo manufacturer?
You'll pay, but nobody else makes belts this good, and gives you so many options for size, width and firmness. You want a short, thin, stiff belt or a long thick soft one...they go it. http://www.kataaro.com/Default.aspx size 0000 to 24 !, 1.5 to 3 inch width, etc...
Cheers bro, I'll have a look, its winning in competition that'll get me to shodan next, so it'll take me a little while to do that safely. I'd like to win it by throws or sweeps, but i may end up playing my strengths instead.
