Is this a real technique, I know it's a movie, but notice he is able to stop/get out if it.

Putting the thumb inside of the mouth and grabbing the outside with the palm is called a fish-hook. Never really tried it but sure it would be painful. This one looks silly.

I agree. It's silly and movie fu.

When it comes to grabs I teach that they are okay if you do something with them.

If I grad your lapels with both hands I've tied both those hands up. This leaves you with dozens of ways to deal with me.

Grab the lapels and progress to throw you then lots of those options you have disappear.

It could potential be a "real" "technique". in that it could potentially be a movie representation of a pain compliance technique. There are many nerves in the face and certain grips can be very painful.

This said - I personally would never use any technique the relied solely on pain for compliance. There is no guarantee of how painful it will be. Different people experience pain in different ways. Even if it is painful the opponent can chose to ignore the pain and to attack regardless.

I personally only use techniques that rely on some kind of mechanical advantage to give me mechanical control over the opponent. These can be painful, but the pain is an irrelevant side effect of the mechanical control.

    I saw something like it.

Pretty much where she presses is a pressure point (they are called that in English, right? I mean points, where a nerve runs through).
For some people apparently that hurts rather bad.
You have points like that on your arms as well; none of these work on me.

I was a Kyoshu-seminar once; the instructor came play on me a couple of times, because he had so much fun, because none of his shown points worked on me lol

I would never put my faith in those though.
They might be nice add-on, if you accidentally hit them, but trusting on them - let's say I'm not that naive.
Especially because most of them don't work on me.

The above shown does hurt a bit and is really unpleasant (the nerve lies right about where the teeth and gum are, so pressing there is unpleasant anyway, but I really, really doubt it would stop someone.
    Make them mad - yes.
Make them punch you - yes.
Stop them from doing anything - nope.

    EDIT: I got ninja'd :( :p

It's a real pressure point, Latikos is right though, I wouldn't attempt to grab or poke it. A Phoenix eye fist or something similar striking it would make part of your face numb, but again, I would go for something that does more damage. It's mostly just a neat parlor trick.

Things like this should be used to augment a structural technique, if trained correctly they can make your technique very difficult to counter

Not anything like the way it's shown on the clip 'though

Can you generate enough force in your mouth to bite somones finger off? would rather not have have any risk of diease from open wounds in the mouth anyway.

Wouldn't really work. If you have any flinch reaction at all you will move your face away. If they are any kind of grappler they'll break your fingers/wrist/arm.

You have to be careful with bites.

First off unless completely committed you risk escalating the anger of the opponent to the next level. It's like a groin kick and isn't the finisher many think.

Also, do you practice it? If you don't then how do you know if you can generate enough power?

You also have the risk of diseases like hepatitis.

Given the types of aggressor you could face it is a factor to consider.

Ignore me, i thought the fingers went in the mouth. But, can you actually bite someones finger off?

Not in a single bite, not in a single motion, and not in any reasonably practical sense against an active opponent.

^ whilst probobly true, I wouldn't risk it anyway.

Fingers should stay on the outside of people normally, especially when anyone is angry!
