There is definatly some Daito Ryu, and its derivatives in the UK. http://www.aikidojournal.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9074 '' There are as far as I know only two places in the UK that teach any authentic form of Daito-ryu. One is the Hakuhoikai in Gloucestershire (you can try contact them via www.ninecircles.co.uk) The other is a study group belonging to the Nihon Daito-ryu Aikibudo Daitokai. http://www.daito-ryu.com/en/uk/pag1.htm Also a study group in London (Roppokai) BicesterRoppokai@yahoo.com'' There is also hakko ryu derivatives around. http://www.dentokan.com/ Theres a fair amount of modern schools, trying to make a quick buck of the name too however.
Mark Hayes Watkins is a member of our association he holds the rank of 3rd Dan Tomiki Aikido, 1st Dan Daitoryu. I am sure that Mark may be able to assist you if possible. His website is http://www.katsujinken-aikido.com
I havejust started teaching Daito Ryu Muden Juku in Kilkenny. This group was set up by a Shihan of the Kodokai. Muden, welcome to MAP. I'm sorry but we do not allow advertising on MAP. If you would like to place an advert for your club then contact site admin. Once you have a few posts under your belt you can place a link as a signature.
There were links to other dojos in the above posts. I was replying to a specific query. How can that be construed as advertising? Anyway, there is Daito Ryu in Ireland.
