Cautionary tales of "normal" martial arts behaviour.

When you only started doing it after you saw at somewhere it's not really a natural thing you did, but something you copied, wouldn't it?

 

i didnt start because of it though. I dont really take much notice in my behaviour its not soemthing i examine or remember. XD

Dont know what the plan is if anything happens and i am in a corner near the entrance/exit, might have to hulk up and go through the problem.

 

hahah! I've done this also when I was doing my degree I bowed out of class a few times by habit.

My wife said to me "Ben, you take your martial arts too seriously"
I said to her "Did you bow when you came in?"

 

Went to a seminar on the weekend (sport specific stretching and warm up/cooldown and first aid). When I got there I didn't know whether to bow at the entrance to the hall or not. Wasn't sure it was strictly a dojang but there were higher grades present. End up twitching in the doorway like a computer game AI character that couldn't route-find before sort of half bowing and stumbling through.

 

Lets comprimise and say Tibeten just so we can rant about the flaws in the Chinese government.

 

Apart from the usual bowing reflex at work occasionally going into meetings, my son knows he is in trouble when I start counting in Japanese like I am doing Karate line work when he is not listening. never have to get to Jyu....

 

When I was doing JJJ I had the bow twitch really bad. Football pitches in particular always triggered it.

My wife has also banned me from doing underhooks whenever we hug. Trouble is i can't remember what a normally hug is - when I try it I just feel like I'm "doing it wrong"

 

Always go for double underhooks. (Over/Under with the Wife....just to be safe)

I'm partial to a harai goshi set up due to her height relative to me and the way she hugs. It's like she wants me to throw her.

We started jive dancing classes last night and the gripping (hand holding?) method is remarkably close to grip fighting with gi.

Dog playfighting with me - secured anaconda and set up for a suplex whilst providing WWE commentary

....got shouted at by missus for being a "nutjob" and told to put the dog down

I am hoping we can form a tag team on the dog and the chihuahua (who is not a dog but some bizarre serial killer and ferret hybrid)

 

It's a bit exaggerated to kill the poor animal, only because he would have won in the end, isn't it?
