Nah, little young for that, but I often have the urge to lock someone into a nice shihonage. Or I accidentally pin someone. I've backhanded, stabbed (with a pencil), and nearly thrown my dad and pinned my grandfather when they made sudden moves while sitting or standing too close to me. And I have been known to do a roll or two while walking the dogs. TheBrat
Trust me aikiwolfie, I know the feeling. I hate when people stand too close, it makes me acutely alert, which is why they, at times, get attacked for sudden moves. Heh, I also have a tendency to get bored while standing around just about anywhere and start practicing Tenkan or doing the motions of techniques. Walmart is no exception to "Anywhere".
I regularly go to walk out of the kitchen, the light needs switching off. Assess my options, realise I have no free hands then end up turning off the light with my big toe.
When I worked in a hotel, I'd do rolls across the double beds when I was making them as it was too much effort to walk around to the other side... Until I got caught and was put on a warning.
Hi, Random question for Aff - hope you don't mind. Basically I saw your post on martialartsplanet that you posted on the forum back in 2005!! (http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40739) PLEASE NOTE: I tried replying to that thread but I can't. Also tried sending a personal message but I can't or don't know how. Anyway you mention there about clicking on your inner thigh near the groin. The way you described it is literally exactly what I have. And it is mainly a discomfort rather than a pain, although if I tweak it awkwardly I can suddenly buckle or have pain just for that moment. A great example of this is if I am squatting in horse stance with a bo staff held horizontally in front of me, if I go for a strike to the right, extending my left leg straight... well i can't it hurts. and if i do it too fast i buckle. hitting the left and extending the right leg is fine pretty much. So why am I telling you all of this? I was hoping you could help. How is your leg/thigh/groin/hip now? Is it the same, worse, better? Did you find out what it was? Because I went to doctors and got no results. Got so many tests, bone scan, ultrasound, x ray, etc... They look at me like I am weird and say nothing is wrong when clearly there is. So doctors are no luck. Seeing as I found your post and what you describe is exactly what I have I wanted your feedback too if you don't mind. It's mainly discomfort for me like I said but I also feel that I can't use my leg properly when working out or doing other things, especially with the fear of causing any quick pain. I think i may even walk with a very slight limp now. I have had this for a few years now. If I stand straight with my feet pointed forward, and then lift my left leg perpendicular and rest it on a ledge... now if I rotate the leg all the way right and left, while not moving anything else, just rotating from the hip/thigh/groin area... well then it will make a clicking noise, I can keep doing it, doesn't hurt but keeps making that clicking noise. Does the same happen to you? Lastly, my inner thigh area near the groin is very tender and feels bruised... always! Seems related. OK so I hope I haven't bothered you too much but I would really appreciate what you have found out if anything. Did it go away? Get worse? Do you know what it is? Thanks a lot, I feel like going to the doctors anymore about this is futile. Thanks David PS: Anyone else with insight would be great.
Sometimes when I'm going through mental boxing in my head when I try to go to sleep or am sitting around my left hand will jerk involuntarily to throw a jab or hook, or my right for an uppercut or cross. It's really strange because when I notice it happening I try to keep from doing it, but I can't seem stop it. I'm just waiting for the day I'm doing it while walking around at school and I punch somebody in the face on accident
You can't reply to it as the title states 'no posting', my guess is some kind of restructure of the Health & Fitness forum back in the day. PMs are set to some mysterious number which is greater than 1 but presumably less than 100, though the whole point is moot since the person you have asked to reply (to a post from 8 years ago) has not logged in since 2009! Since people are viewing this thread brought back from the dead under 'Aikido' you would be better raising it as a new post in a relevant forum to get a more favourable reply imo.
