Jason Delucia did a video series on "combat aikido" if I reacall, although I also thought he was a 5 Animal stylist. Andy Anderson fought in an early UFC too it other than that no Just Seagal coaching guys these days...

Lyoto Machida used one before. Aikido rarely works on its own. All vids or real aikido are usually choeragraphed. I notice that it might work well with judo
Rik Ellis? I watched him fight and he's apparently an aikido stylist. I didn't see any aikido in his fight though (I don't think)?
Jeez... low end as it comes. The announcers are clueless... it's not a dress the guy is wearing. But with his fight ability it might as well have been. Unreal. Clearly a case of someone who's been fed way too much BS and believed it. He had absolutely no clue. None.
Those type of fights always make me palm myself so hard in the face I get a concussion. I know fighters have to start somewhere but sweet zombie jeebers that was appalling!
Guy was clearly fed the lie and swallowed it and while he is not necessarily representative of Aikido as an art he is - I believe - far from an anomalous representation of an average Aikidoka. I find it quite revealing that irrespective of the debate surrounding Aikido's utility within the sport of MMA, this video shows an (presumably dan ranked) Aikidoka failing to use their Aikido in a context which they are supposedly specifically trained for ie controlling and negating the threat of a larger, aggressive opponant who is swinging to take their head off. Brain Chow's a big fella and he probably has a fair chin... but a high level athlete/fighter his is not; he's a fat brawler. Besides that, the video is simply great for the LULZ.
The recent fight between Shields and Akiyama has some moments that smacked of Aikido to me. Even though Akiyama is/was a judoka the way he entered and threw Shields was Aikido in nature IMHO.
Where in that video did the guy ever use Aikido? For all I know he wore a hakama trying to do boxing....
i have trained at The Ellis School of Traditional Aikido, and Rik Ellis has been training there. I have also trained when he has attended the the club in Basingstoke. http://rik-ellis.blogspot.co.uk/. There is also a video on you tube i have seen where he demonstrates some Aikido techniques and how he used them in MMA.
Well, sometimes he literally is. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7oDZBkIi8Y"]Sakuraba vs. Akiyama with Sakuraba and Referee's voice - YouTube[/ame]
well i think aikido is useful for its angles, Footwork, and "zoning" but your not gonna just catch punches out of the air or be able to just lock up someone with a wrist lock or something who is activly punching you in the face Bas rutten said something about it once aikido in mma that is and he said at one point what i just said and that you would really need to chase the style to make it effective
