You control how people interact with you not the other way around. When people challenge and debunk the vast majority of the crud you post, then it's up to YOU to realise the reason for it, and more importantly, to modify your behaviour.

As a contributor to this forum, you're an "non-entity". This is because you wish to cloud yourself in a veil of anonymity yet, you expect everyone here, people who have been here far longer than you, who's experiences/knowledge and backgrounds are known and respected, to simply take what you say on far less than 'face value'.. The problem is, you seem incapable of understanding .. it simply doesn't work like that.

Yes, you can remain entirely anonymous here, yes you can choose to with-hold information about your MA background and no, you're not breaking the TOS in doing so however, on the other hand, you will NEVER be taken seriously within a peer-group who read your contributions, then continually find themselves questioning both your logic and common sense. Couple that with the fact you remain entirely secretive about simple issues like the rank you hold or the actual style of aikido you allegedly study, and what you get is the responses and reactions you're now complaining about.

You created this situation and the only way you'll ever change that is to stop posting in such ways which draw attention. If you want to contribute in an authoritative way - such as a "fairly high rank" might be qualified and experienced to do, then at at some point be expected to divulge what your rank and experience is, other wise you'll just be dismissed as a "Walt"

Because that's what we presently think you are.

If that's a problem for you either take Aikiwolfie's advice and stop posting or, contribute in such ways you don't come across as some arrogant, condescending troll.

The choice has always been yours, it remains yours but don't expect anyone else to treat you differently unless you change your behaviour and what it is you expect from others here.

I have encountered arrogance in MA - and where it can be backed up in words and action - I can live with that just about - sometimes - because it is still possible to learn from these people, however twisted.

In internet land, there is no action, just words. Hence words; their manner and tone, can be read with a lot of analysis. Words written should not be written hastily.

I try not to be arrogant (I have nothing to be arrogant about for one thing) or spout blatant BS. I may not always succeed in doing so, but I do make an effort to write and communicate in a reasonably coherent manner.

Wow Dave. You just can never get beyond rank. How superficial. Let it go already.

And once again, you missed the point of what's being stated NOT JUST BY ME just so you can interfere with a thread and not contribute to it.

You keep harping on about me letting it go.. No way buddy, not in a million years.

The rank aspect well maybe its not that important - but its absence does not add 1 atom of credibility to a lot of spouted BS.

Dave is being fair and measured in his words, and is giving fair advice, as has Wolfie.

Perhaps you missed the point aikiewolfie made in the below linked thread about this whole rank/dojo/instructor issue:

Food for thought. But I doubt you care.

I don't care either. If you make claims you need to back them up. You can contribute fine without making stupid claims and nobody with bother one bit. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Izu makes claims but fails in almost every aspect of explanation. If he was genuine those claims would be backed up in what he says. SeongIn, I've met the real deal and they don't always identify themselves but their expertise shines through. Izu's post demonstrate no expertise, they read like someone who has read some books and online articles and not actually done it. Those who have actually done what they have claimed talk differently because they talk from experience.

Identifying these people should be your first skill because without it you're going to spend ALOT of your free time being exploited by charlatans.

First of all let me say I take exception to people trotting out what I have said as a shield to hide behind because they can't back their arguments. That's just lame. It's weak. It's low. It's the sort of tactic I would expect my former teacher, Bill Andrew to trot out. And he's my former teacher because of that nature.

Secondly SeogIn you've completely missed the point I was making in that post you quoted. STAY ON TOPIC! If you people want to discuss you rank and back ground create a thread for it. If you want to make incredible claims then be prepared to be questioned on those claims.

Contribute to the subject matter of the thread. If you feel you are being picked on by anybody then report it using the report post button on the top right hand corner of the offending post. Don't further derail the thread with an argument. If the mod team feels action needs to be taken. We will take that action. See point 4!

With that said and done. This thread better get back on topic or it gets closed.

I posted at the same time Wolfie did. I've redacted my comments so's not to continue the off topic content.

There are no clean ups and no side notes. There is only the close thread button.
