o my bad, we're using different units. yours is in pounds, mine is in kilograms. in that case, we're probably both right.
Even for someone who is active, doctors do not recommend taking in much more protein than that (it is too much for your kidneys to process). You really do not need much more protein than that, and too much is dangerous for you.
i agree that too much is a real problem for kidneys, but everything i've read indicates that dangerous starts at 3x rda. further, the more your body uses, the less your kidneys have to process, as i understand it.
It depends on where you calories are coming from. If you are increasing protein intake, and lowering the carbs in your diet, that might be enough to stress your kidneys. Protein should make up 15% of your daily caloric intake. Anything over 30% is not healthy for your kidneys.
I shall help. I used to be 6'3" 170lbs. I am now 210 with a six pack. Allllll you have to do, (are you listening?) is EAT MORE and TRAIN HARDER. Its sooo easy. I ate 5k calories a day, and startred training harder ( I thought I was doing pretty good before that.... wrong) and I got some good size on me now. Obviously I'm not huge, but I'm a hell of a lot bigger and prettier than I was before As for ab work, I do: Hanging leg raises Twisting crunches on a swiss ball Standard crunches Whatever the hell I feel like Now go!
I heard this too much protein stuff againa t the gym today! What is with this? If it were true that our kidneys can't handle all this protein kidneys would be practically falling out of us! I take in a lot of protein as do powerlifters, bodybuilders (lots of athletes actually). Also, what about these Atkins type dieters? Are they all having renal failure? ( I really don't know but I assume not as a few of my friends did this no problem) Perhaps it is true for the average person (fat sedentary in USA!!!! GO USA!!) but for athletes I say it is bunk. Just stay make sure you up your water intake (as all athletes should do I beleive right?)
