By Joe rogan, so expect good content padded out by Joe talking, and possibly some NSFW content.

I've not listened to it yet, but will be tomorrow

Was a really good podcast. Learned quite a bit. Cool stories too.

Fascinating. The section where he takes apart the Cyborg fight was frightening in its level of clinical analysis. There is a whole level of stuff going on at that level that us normal jiu jitsu practitioners will never get to. Heck, if a decent black belt like Joe Rogan didn't have a clue, where does that leave the rest of us mere mortals?

Also fascinating was his analysis of a BJJ fight and how its sequence relates to a real fight and why certain positions get the points they do in competition.

Hah...listening now. It's like an adult talking to a child. Rogan's getting afraid to answer Danaher's questions because he doesn't want to be wrong. :)

It's like the bit in Bladerunner where Deckard is zooming in on the photo...freeeze...go back...zoom in...go back...go forwards. Love it.

What is even more remarkable is Joe is a top level BJJ player and really has an in depth knowledge of the game - Danaher is just on a whole other level! Amazing podcast with one of the most insightful minds in the game

I found it really interesting him going through his injuries and how he has to teach without being able to do the actual moves. Goes to show that if you're an actual martial arts genius you don't need actually be able to "do" to be able to "teach".

Rickson can still "go" apparently, though nowhere near his physical prime. Guro Dan is another that springs to mind as is "Judo" Gene

I've heard different things about Rickson. Some say his back is so bad he can't roll anymore. And then others...like you..saying he still can. I can imagine it'll vary day to day and Rickson's state of mind on the day. He's still someone with that look in his eye that you know would thrown down, bad back or not.

Although if you did he'd probably just give you a withering look of disappointment that would be worse than a beating.

Vu told a story once about his time with Rickson where Vu kept asking "Can you bite from there?" to every position and Rickson would kinda good naturedly shrug it off with a "Yes, I suppose". Eventually after what Vu called the "10,00th time of asking" Rickson turned and fixed him with a stare and said "If you wish to die, yes"

    Vu stopped asking :)
