Looks like Jackie will be showing Liam Neeson, Sean Penn & co. how real aging action stars do it.

    Genuinely intrigued by this.

I love Chan films! The last 2 films I've watched have been:
'The Wee Man', excellent intrigue and plot, lots of strong language, hella good flashbacks.
'Blade 2' I just like watching vampires and such die. Heavy action, light on plot. Just what I need when I'm not allowed to bench press!

Mushroom De-powered to come back better than before.

The Production got into a bit of trouble during a filming of an explosion in Central London but didn't make correct warning signage. Rumour has it, they didn't tell Police either. So there was calls to an "attack" to the emergency services. This was a couple of years ago, but still. "Current climate" and all...

I watched the new Power Ranger's movie. And you know what?

I actually enjoyed it. It's pure kid's fun (obviously). It kind of reminds me of the 90s remake of Lost in Space. It has that similar feel to it.

Also their "special move" is totally awesome!

    Wonder Woman

Okay, I was wrong. Ever since Gal Gadot was cast I've been complaining that she's the wrong person. For this, that, and the other reason she won't be right, I said. She doesn't have the look, I said. Well ... I still think other actresses could have done it, but Gal Gadot is a great Wonder Woman. And the movie is great. It actually does belong in the same category as the Captain Americas and the Iron-Mans and Spidermans and the Christian Bale Batmans. (And no, Batman vs Superman is not in that list.)

My only complaints: (1) I wanted a longer Amazon beach battle. That battle was so good that I wanted more. And (2) more of that music! Come on, that is great music, and we barely got any.

I'm not going to see this again at the theater because I'm cheap. I watch only 2 or 3 movies a year at the theater. But I will absolutely Redbox or Netflix Wonder Woman in a few months.

    Jack Reacher #2

Got it at the library. I honestly thought it was going to suck, but have cool kung fu fights (like his 4-on-1 in the first movie). It doesn't suck.

Tom Cruise has never been in my list of favorite actors, but wow, does he play a good Jack Reacher. He was stone-cold emotionless for so much of the movie, but then, when he's talking with the girl -- dude is almost crying. Fantastic acting skill, and that's something I would not normally say about Tom Cruise.

It has it's stupid movie moments (like how he has the Sergeant's cell phone number, and how he knew where the Colonel lives, and how he found the girl, and the convenience of that food truck) and a few unrealistic fight moments (knocking out the guy in the airplane seat) but then it has some really clever moments (taking out the ankle of the guy in the airplane seat, and not getting into the food truck, and how the girl discovered where their target would be in New Orleans).

I actually liked it a little more than the first, but more so in a reverse way rather than a positive way. What I mean is, it could have easily been gawd-awful but it wasn't, and because it wasn't I gave it a lot of attention, and because of that -- I really appreciated the subtle emotions of Tom Cruise. (And I normally don't give him any attention.) And his relationship with "Deputy Director Maria Hill" surprisingly worked. It's believable, in the movie, that they would have agreed to go on a blind date (they'd only spoken on the phone when the movie began), and believable that after meeting they would have liked each other. The first movie was missing a similar human relationship, and I think it added a little extra something to the story.

Having seen the trailer, he still moves well for a 60+ year old! I don't expect him to be jumping down the middle of a shopping mall, or onto a moving boat, but I bet he'll be breaking something.

I recently watched the Queen of Katwe - based on a true story about a girl who works her way out of the slums of Katwe by playing chess.
A nice feel good story and I found it enjoyable to watch.

    Transformers The Last Knight.
Absolute hot mess of a film. 2hrs 45mins and it was all over the place.
It's getting to the point where Michael Bay can make a film, with no title or plot and just dump it into the cinema circuit - and it'll make his money back.

To think there was a writers room for this, is hilarity.

However, you know exactly what you're getting when you walk into this.
big explosions, pretty girls, crash, bang, boom, whallop.

Walking out of the cinema after a Michael Bay film is like doing the walk of shame. Ranging from "ah well.." to Cersei Lannister bell ringing.

My favourite part was literally the last minute (only cos I'm pretty much in love with a certain actress)

Carrying on my terrible film double bill.

I decided to go straight retro and revisit, the great Shakespearean tale.. Romeo Must Die (2002 ish?)

One of Jet Li's venture into Hollywood (people forget about The Master). He teams up with (late) Aaliyah, to battle between a gang war.

Apart from the terrible plot, the terrible acting. I was reminded that there are a lot of technical errors in the film. In fact, if any of you guys decide to go to it's IMDB page, I added quite a few of the goofs :p

What was really disappointing was the terrible use of wire work. Even though it was choreographed by Cory Yuen (and absolute geeks will see he reused sequences), Hollywood Directors just doesn't seem to grasp on how to film angles on the fights.
Jet Li was also clearly holding onto wires and so was his/their stuntmen.

There was also a lot of racist jokes against Chinese people, which seems to be accepted around that time. But no one seemed to noticed, so whatevers. Still a bit of a fun watch at times. Maybe in another 10 years,

Romeo must die is one of those guilty pleasures for me, I know it's bad and the choreography is clunky at the best of times, I think part of it is nostalgic for me for when as our was released when I was competing in wushu and it seemed to be in every movie.
It seemed like they had to water down a lot of Jet Li for the Western viewers, and the racists jokes were poor taste and completely unrelated to the plot or characters :/

Massive guilty pleasure of mine and despite its negative reception is exactly what a Punisher comic should look like on the screen IMO - mindless, incredibly violent and awesome!

I don't know if you've ever watched the TV show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," it's pretty funny if you haven't, but I imagined the first Jack Reacher as a spy movie written by Mac. So many indulgent male fantasy moments.

    Guardians of the Galaxy #2

Wow. It's actually better than the first! How often does that happen, huh? Star Wars/Empire, and Toy Story 1/2, and --- and that's all I can think of! The sequel is almost never better than the original, but Guardians #2 is. :D

On the negative, though -- the language is a lot cruder. Okay, with that out of the way, this is a terrific Fathers' Day movie. The whole script is about family bonding, and particularly Peter finally drawing close to his father, but it's done really intelligently and organically. There are no sappy lines or forced emotional scenes. The story just keeps going, and, before you know it, it just happens. Rocket opens up, and that blue guy with the arrow opens up (I can't remember his name), and Nebula opens up, and Gamora, and -- it's just really cool.

And the visuals! Holy cow, I am thinking this is the 2nd best computer effect camera work visuals ever!!! ("Avatar" of course is #1) The way the camera moves around the fake computer backdrops and sets is outright gorgeous and a pleasure to watch. :D

In one of the credits scenes there's a strong suggestion that Stallone and Michelle Yeoh will be in the #3. :D

Really excited to see it actually, the first one was such a solid movie. Sequels that are arguably better than the first: Alien/Aliens, Terminator/Terminator 2, Robocop/Robocop 2, probably a few more out there.

Terminator/T2, yes. I would agree with that. Good call. But almost everything is better than Robocop, so that one doesn't count. :D

Totally in agreement, I loved it and as soon as I got home from watching it pre ordered

It is probably my favorite if the recent Marvel releases.
