What is actually wrong with meal replacement shakes?

You still have to spend time travelling to food stores, shopping around for the ingredients, and mixing the batches for yourself. And your ingredients will have a shorter shelf life. My food shop takes zero seconds because I have a subscription order set up.

I just saw an add for something similar, supposedly, called Ambronite: Ambronite Supermeal - Complete Meal Shake - Made of Real Foods
They are selling free samples (with not that cheap shipping, though :D), so I was wondering if anyone has experience with it? (It seems it doesn not have a pea protein in it, so I am thinking about trying)

All of that backed by the downside of cost. Not sure how to justify that kind out outlay.

This sort of thing all comes down to personal choice and preferences. But that's the great thing about being alive in this day and age - we can choose pretty much whatever we want.

This morning I will break my current 100% Huel run when I go for some breakfast with my university study group, but then I can have Huel for the rest of the day and restart my run tomorrow. That flexibility is the best part about it.

They don't taste like a Roasted Scallop with Preserved Fennel, Pollen and Sauce Bouillabaisse au Beurre starter, a "Fish du Jour" with Squid Dolma, Grelot Onion, Bottarga and Charred Lemon Purée main course and a dessert of Gooseberry and White Chocolate Bavarois with Provence Sponge and Bay Leaf Ice Cream.

    Just saying. :D

You know Van, I have been thinking about you and what you have been saying all day today. Looking at the subscription, and how often you can set it up, I am starting to see it in a different light. Granted I would have to commit to it full time, as to not waste the $218, but if it truly kept me sated, I can see it as more realistic. For me at least.

    I like the nutritional profile.

Ordered my batch of Gruel - I mean Huel - today. 2 bags of vanilla with chocolate flavour pouch. Will see how this goes!

Just knocked back my first pint of Huel.

    First impressions: I like it!

Taste: tastes like Readybreak and Belvita biscuits. Zero pea taste. Actually really nice. Vanilla flavour is very subtle. Tastes more oaty than anything. Will try with chocolate flavour later.

Mixability/texture: I drank one scoop powder to five scoops water as per base instructions. Perhaps a little too watery for me so may double scoop next time. Mixability was really good. I actually made mine in a jug with a fork and it did take some mixing to get it reasonably lump free. With that said it mixed way better than some protein powders and most likely will be perfect in a blender or with an electric whisk. I think I will have to invest in one. Pretty good considering the rudimentary mixing strategy I was using.

Well my Huel experiment has begun. Gonna try 2 shakes a day, 1 main meal and one normal snack. Break myself in gently.

I found an sale on a similar, superfood protein shake made in the Czech Republic and I suppose comparing it to some, quite cheap (500 g for an equivalent of 14 pounds). I kind of don't understand it is can be a complete food replacement, because their website says it can, however, on the pack there's an information to eat up to 100 g per day which equals 360 kcal, so I am not really sure. However, I never wanted it as a mean replacement, more like a healthy snack replacement. I was worried about the taste as I mentioned before, but this one is actually much better. It has a bit of a weird taste when I drink it whole, but I think it is all about getting used to it. It is not disgusting or anything. Which is what I was worried about considering my previous experience and just recently trying a gulp of a friend's new protein shake, which didn't seem bad at first, but had a sickly sweet aftertaste I needed to get rid of really fast :D Anyway, Chia Shake is the answer for me now! :)
I ordered a "slim" version with lots of protein and little sugars, as I am trying to lose weight, which only has a vanilla flavour, but I am thinking of ordering the "sport" version with some more flavours, too.
