Warrior Spirit

I am a warrior, deep down in my soul
My ancestors were warriors too, so I was told
They were the greatest warriors that any could be
I guess that warrior spirit was passed down to me
I am their descendant, the descendant of warriors
I am a warrior in my mind, spirit, and heart
Descending from great warrior tribes like the mandigo and zulu
Warriors that paved the way for arts like judo and kung-fu
Warriors that built great empires like mali and kush
Warriors that were great kings, and great inventors of stuff
I'm proud to be a descendant of a great warrior race
Now when I look in the mirror, I see a warrior's face
I am a warrior, descendant of the African nations
Though I'm all American, in all American places
The warrior spirit never dies, and was passed down through the ages
Maye that's why I am strong, black, pwerful and determined to fight to be free
Maybe that's why I walk, talk, and act intelligently
Because I'm a warrior, I knew ever since I was a kid
And I will walk in the way of the warrior, as my ancestors did
