It's not fair...

by Jim Raistrick

You crave a champion to watch over you
Without truly ever knowing the taste

The price and costs too high to reach

Leaving only bile and waste

Many times they have called to you
But through time you despair

Sometimes meanings are lost to you

In complaints that it’s not fair

Forever looking for a master
You relive your foreign dreams

Sugar coating for your trial

And glitter’s the only thing that gleams

Many times they have called to you
But through time you despair

Sometimes meanings are lost

Complaints that it’s not fair

Falling egotists leave no trace here

The frost of another winter

Even losers show their wears

Their faces a shattered splinter

Many times they have called to you
But through time you despair

Sometimes meanings are lost

Complaints that it’s not fair

Bait those who would harm you

And lie in wait for their treason

A move forward is often lost

Drift towards another season

Many times they have called to you
But through time you despair

Sometimes meanings are lost

Complaints that it’s not fair
