International Fighting Tournament II

By Klaudia Maric

In November the 2nd International Fighting Tournament took place in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This tournament has become a tradition that was started last year by Slaven Planinic, who is the first and only organizer of ultimate fight tournaments in this country. The tournament was once again the meeting point of excellent fighters whose fighting skills couldn't leave the audience indifferent. The cheering was very intense from the beginning to the very end. It has to be stressed that some people didn't have the chance to watch this event because all tickets were sold.

This year's tournament consisted of 7 fights by different rules. At the beginning of the tournament all fighters were presented to the audience. One by one they entered the ring with good music and an amazing light show.
The 1st fight was between two teenagers by kickboxing rules. Although very young they proved that they are training very hard and that we should definitely count on them in the future.

The audience accompanied the 2nd fight (by street fighting rules) with a lot of cheering because both fighters were their heavy favourites, since both of them come from Mostar.
There was also one fight by K-1 rules, the winner of which was the last year's K-1 champion Adnan Redzovic. He won the King of the Coliseum K-1 tournament in Sarajevo last year.

The other 4 fights were by ultimate fight rules and the audience surely didn't regret coming. The person who should be mentioned is Pavo Epler, who also comes from Mostar, and who KO'ed his opponent in the very first minute. He is definitely proof of what hard work and enthusiasm can do because Epler participated in the last year's tournament as well, but lost his fight. And the last fight of this well-organized tournament added additional flavour to it. The organizer Slaven Planinic fought against the Croatian champion and won within the first minutes of the fight. It has to be said that students who train at his school of martial arts 'Croatia' have a highly skilled instructor, who promised to organize even a bigger event next year.
