When can I learn koppojutsu techniques?

I'd like to know how long one usually has to study bujinkan in order to get to train pressure points (koppojutsu)?

I saw this on one internet site...
http://www.geocities.com/yowie_26/27.htm
...that Gikan Ryu Koppjutsu comes at 6th dan. Now does this mean that I have to be 6th dan before I get to learn these techniques?

If so, that's ok, but isn't 6th dan like 10-20 years of training???? I'm running out of years soon

Not too sure about Bujinkan but I thought in both Buj and Gen the techniques were kinda scrambled around. Atleast my training has been a lot more than just training for a test.

I agree with Zamfoo. There may be a particular set of elements you need to know for each test, but that's not all you'll be training.

Koppojutsu

Johniemi, in my experience, what you are referring to is called "koshijutsu" - the attacking of nerve centers, kyusho (vital points) and muscle attacks/tears. "Koppojutsu" is at its most basic level striking, and specifically bone-breaking. In Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu as Hatsumi Sensei teaches it, koshijutsu and the attacking of kyusho are taught from the beginning in most dojos, and this training is explored and refined extensively as the years go by.

Not to Worry!
