Wing Chun anti knife defence

I wondered what would be a good defence against knife attacks using Wing Chun Kung Fu, or any similar style.

I think the first defence could be psychological, as in "Come on, then!" to call their bluff, but then on the slight chance that they may take things further (these wimps hardly ever do, claiming concealed weapons) then how would you turn the tables against them, using their own weapon(s) to totally defeat and humiliate them, probably forcing them to leave the club or pub, the area and give up their way of life, like they threatened to make you do?

I say "Do unto others, before they do it unto you!!"

i say you have been watching too many films m8, the chances of you "Turning the tables" or "totally defeat and humiliate them" are slim to none unless you have a degree in gun fu.
Honestly im not sure if this is a serious question. If it is i honestly cant believe you are 36 not 13 and im sure flaming will begin shortly.

I say bitch tits mainly 'cause i like to

I thought that by now there might be some useful suggetions, but there aren't, so I'll have to get things going.

Your first line of defence could be psychological. When someone threatens you with a knife, just stand your ground. Don't try to fit in with any orders they shout at you. After this, or almost simulataneously, put up your Wing Chun guard.

Has anyone got any suggestions of what happens after that? I look forward to reading them.

Your Wing Chun guard gets slashed to bits by a knife?

I'd biu jee to his eyes as a feint, then paak sau his knifing holding arm, and then unleash my close-range deadliness upon him. But this is only recommended for bad-a$$es. I'm a all around bad a$$ btw. There's this one time 15 knife-wielding assailants surrounded me in a parking lot. I beat them all down with a combination of taan da, laap da, and paak da. I didn't have a scratch on me. They all ended up dying instantly, blood spewing out of 7 orifices. I'm not lying. It really did happen.

It was kinda funny on your other idiotic thread. But this is just getting sad. Do you know anything about what you are talking about, or do you just like the attention.

Telling them to "bring it" is pretty dumb.

I have a recent memory of a double murder, where a guy walks into a hotel room where a guy and his girlfriend are. He holds a gun to them asking for money, adn the guy tries to be a tough guy. He said "What are you going to do, shoot me?" He shot him in the chest multiple times, then his girlfriend.

Always be obedient to orders someone may give you, if they have a knife or gun to you. That, for starters, could save you.

Here's an example of what I mean.

Don't reply to any more of my posts, otherwise I'll stab you!! Please supply me with details of where I can find you, so I can do this.

I've got various problems in my life which are due to backing down to threats. I never stop thinking how different my life would be if I hadn't backed down to these threats. If I back down to any more threats I'll soon be totally finished, so there's no point backing down. Got it?

No I really don't get it.

For starters, from the sound of it you must be the most irritating person in the world to be getting all these death threats.

Secondly, there is no way you are talking from experience as you wouldn't be here if you used your advice. There is no way doing what you suggest, would do anything but aggravate the person. It is also obvious that you have never really had your life threatened (I mean in a position where a person had the ability to take your life, not threatened over the phone).

Have you ever even trained with a fake knife. Get someone to try and touch you with a stick, and you try and stop them. Good like trying to humiliate them when your lying bleeding on the floor from multiple stab wounds.

Seriously mate, isn't it obvious from the response of everyone on the board (experienced martial artists), that you (a person with an obvious lack of experience in martial art/self defense/common sense) are on the complete wrong track here.

I like Karl Tanswell's idea that the first rule of knife defence is to have as much distance as possible between you and the knife, and then base everything off that. Like, first of all, try not to even BE in that inner city street at three in the morning, drunk out of your skull. Try NOT to go down and remonstrate with those youths who are throwing stones at your car.

Don't try close range trapping fancy stuff - keep distance, try to walk away, keep away.

And I should say, the one thing that really gets people killed is their ego - like, 'I'm goingto stand up to these guys... someone has to..'

Yeah, thanks for being a martyr.

Looking at 'what works' in a knife defence situation is very difficult. Probably, everything you can think of has happened, worked, or failed, in some situation or other. The best policy, therefore, is to approach it from the other side - look at things that have, consistently cost people their lives - look at what not to do. DON'T go out and get off your face, loose touch with your group and walk home. DON'T get in to a stupid drunken argument. DON'T remonstrate with groups of youths. DON'T try to get all fancy with Chuck Norris knife defences. Like driving, keep your distance, keep aware, keep safe. Many of us may actually have been in potential knife attack scenarios and not even known it, because we did the right things to avoid it.

Noticed that there was an article on knife defence in MAI when I was browsing in WH Smith the other day. From the pictures it looked totally impractical and the instructor bloke would have still had a chopped up arm if he used what he was showing in real life.

You've just set up the greatest example of how to get yourself stabbed... ever. Do you read the newspapers? Or watch the news?!?!

Have you seen the amount of teens and adults being stabbed in the UK on a weekly basis?! What rock have you been living under? Seriously... do your homework. You're whole game plan is fantasy land.

Chances are you're going to 'call their bluff' and then get end with a 14 year old chav sticking you in the neck. You might want to try the average pubside punch up before you end up jumping into a knife vs. wing chunner fight.

Despite what YouTube and Wing Chun nuthuggers think... the knife wins.
