Question A very important question.

Recently in a thread titled my first inadvertent man-kiss, a picture of Superman was posted by Moosey.

This got me thinking. (Please, no pedophilia jokes. )

Superman wears his superman clothes under his normal everyday clothes yes?

So where does his cape go?

He can't really tuck it into his pants since it would need a split up the middle of the cape to allow it to divide between the two legs.

He could stuff it down one leg but then that leg would look all puffy suspicious.

He could fold it up into his shirt, but that may also look puffy as a result, perhaps even making him look like a hunchback.

So what does Superman do with his cape when he is wearing his normal clothes over his uniform?

If you decide to reply to this thread, please bare in mind that I know nothing about Superman and have never really been interested in super hero comic book type stuff, so don't get too technicle with the answer, for example saying "look in issue 297 you n00b!"

That's all.

Well, to be honest you bring up good and valid points, it doesn't seem possible(unless it's a silk cape and then it most likely could be folded without to much notice).

On the other hand, he's Superman, bow down to his greatness, he's so super his cape vanishes to keep his disguise intact.

What does he do with his suit when he's wearing his Superman outfit?

That reminds me. In the picture linked to in my post, Superman is wearing a white buisness shirt. I used to wear those shirts to work and believe me, you can see through them pretty easily.

So how does nobody see a bright primary coloured outfit underneath his shirt?

The answer to all of these questions is Super Buttocks. He can clench them with such force that he can hide a weeks worth of clothing between them and you'd never know. Saves on the ironing as well.

He's Super he doesn't follow the normal laws of physics us mere mortals do, his suit vanishes back to his fortress of solitude, his shirt has a relfective interior coating to hide the appearance of his uniform.

Either that or the properties of his cape and costume are Kryptonian in origin and thus do not follow the physics of this world.

Remember, he can move at super-high-speed! So I guess from wherever he is, he can quickly grab his cape, stash his suit in the wardrobe and get to the emergency in the blink of an eye.

Come on people... do try to keep up.

Everyone knows that Superman doesn't wear his cape under his clothes when he is going about business as the mild mannered Clark Kent.

If you know anything about Superman then you know he always ducks into a phone booth to change into his Superman long johns..

Every phone booth has a false compartment in which he stores his cape. These are distributed around the city so that no matter which phone booth he goes into he always has a cape ready.

There. Simple.

And where do his glasses go? Folding his cape or whatever I can just about get but you can only fold glasses the once before *snap*. Sure, he could pop them in a pocket or something but surely there'd be a bulge in a skin-tight costume like that?

(There is actually a genuine "comic book" answer but I don't reckon it has a place on this thread . You could also ask how the flip Tony Stark carries around his entire Iron Man suit in that little briefcase).

Ok I shall direct the conversation towards a site specializing in answering questions like this - and so much more. if you keep looking you are bound to find an answer.
www.superdickery.com

Now the glasses thing is explained by everthing withing 2/3 mm of supes being indestructible (suit also).

And the old "+glasses=clarkkent" thing that NO-ONE picks up on is explained with a "super-hypnosis" power. But that still doesnt reach the level of Superman Returns when Clark kent and Superman are missing for THE EXACT same amount of time. I mean seriously, to the day. He doesnt even turn up, have a week off and be subtle about it. Kent returns and bang Superman is back doing his thing.
