Question (Scottish) Lau Gar?

Hi all .
I thought that I’d ask a few questions that have been nagging me for a little while.
First of all, if there any difference between Scottish Lau Gar and other Lau Gar, if there is a difference, what is it?

Is Lau Gar a ‘traditional’ style of kung fu? By this I mean, is it as respected as, for e.g. Wing Chun ?

Is it an effective style? (and no, I don’t mean street fighting).

Is it a five animal style? If not, what animals does it use?

As you can probably tell, I’m not to sure about Lau Gar, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy at a lot, but I like to have info on what I’m doing. I’ve looked it up on the net many times, But it didn’t give me the answers I needed.

Thanks, never.

Where'd you find a can of worms this big?

There are now at least 5 organisations practicing Lau Gar in Scotland, only one/possibly two of which are sanctioned by Master Yau/BKFA. Practice of LG varies dramatically up and down the country, not just in Scotland.

I'd have to say no.

If you don't mean street fighting , then what? Tournaments=Yes, Fitness=Yes, Introduction to CMA= Yes.

Dragon, Tiger, Snake, Leopard and Crane.

I think you'll find out a lot about the style on this site, as we have so many practitioners here.
