Hello my helpful MAP friends. One of our members (Whats_up) lives in Camden, travels by public transport and is looking for an FMA class. I'm a little to far away to offer reasonably priced private lessons, so can you guys please recommend a class that's easily accessible by public transport? Let's prove what a lovely helpful bunch we are here at MAP. Thanks in advance.
Only place that comes immediately to mind is East Studios in Hendon Central (Northern Line) where FMA is taught. I have no info past that though..ie who is the coach etc. I'm pretty sure there must be something closer. Camden is a very culturally mixed town. If I find out more, I'll try to remember and post. Edit: I just remembered this one. Its near Wormwood Scrubs Prison, its why I remembered it...potential people to practice on . (I jest....) http://www.eadocepares.com/index.shtml I dont know if its still there. Its by Willesden Junction Overground (Whats_up, can take via Camden Rd station)
camden london? my cousin lived there through uni and walked to her campus - SOAS/UCL they've got a Kali society and a Pencak Silat one: http://soasunion.org/soclist/
Hey Si - feel free to send your friend our way - we're only based in Kings Cross, which is two stops away from Camden Town (take the Northern line): www.london-arnis.co.uk We normally run classes on Monday and Thursday nights, 7pm-9pm (£10). Classes are reasonably small and manageable (less than 12 participants), and the syllabus covers the full FMA spectrum. Currently the only change to the programme is tonight, when we'll be hosting a screening of the Bladed Hand over at Russell Square. In fact, i think Danny G is making an appearance too - you free this evening to grab a pint with us?
hi the Hendon central place closed years ago it was mostly silat though bob breen in Hoxton is very close and of course superb
Janno, Thanks for the offer, but although I'd love to come it would make my day a bit too long. If Danny is going don't let him drag you into the Leicester Square casinos. Next time I'm off work I'd love to pop up and say hi. Would you be interested in doing an article for MAP? As for all of the recommendations I will pass them on. I've done a bit of training with everyone recommended with the exception of Janno and we know his lineage, so there is much expertise for Whats_up to chose from..
I'd be happy to do an article mate - just let me know what is required I'll PM you my contact number too.
