Well considering "Ninjutsu" really is a generic or umbrella term which refers to a set of skills devolved during a particular time and culture it'd be good to know exactly which "Ninjutsu" you are on about. Not to mention why it has gone down hill. Even if you are on about the material taught within the so called X-Kans you should still clarify what you mean, they aren't all the same.
Wouldn't taking ninjitsu to the next level involve pirates and/or robots? I'll get me (jet black, properly arranged and tied) ninja coat...
I wasnt brushing up. It was an awful youtube video. Ive been studying ninjutsu since i was 5 years old... however.. unlike everyone in ninjutsu.. i took my training to the next level- Into the ring.
Names, schools, website, fight card, opponents names, governing bodies, you tube clips, advertisments etc.
Names, schools, website, fight card, opponents names, governing bodies, you tube clips, advertisments etc.
Unless he means secret tournaments with secret rings. Which I don't think he does, as that is the next next level of ninjitsu. KUMITE!
Names, schools, website, fight card, opponents names, governing bodies, you tube clips, advertisments etc.[/QUOTE All you need to know is Strikeforce.
You did notice the in my post yeah? Ok you've been doing Ninjutsu since you were five. Which org? Or if not one of the big three then can we assume you have undertaken some training in a Koryu which has those skills? See just saying you do Ninjutsu without some more info to qualify where your training comes from is far too vague and to be honest not something any serious JMAers I've met do. So if you'd be so kind as to say which specific ryu-ha your training is from then that would be great. Oh and why was the clip awful? On a final note the way you mention "everyone else in Ninjutsu" is rather telling It points to certain things in your understanding.
So what specific aspects of your training did you translate to the ring? Could you please name some concepts and perhaps kata that you developed into a workable ring fighting system? How they work within the ryu-ha you studied and how you had to adapt. Did you find that other thread you were reading useful? The one about if Taijutsu is relevant for today?
The Bujinkan. I use nothing from Ninjutsu when i fight except an arm bar but i only really knew how to use an arm bar properly in Bjj. I predict ninjutsu becomming extinct soon.
You've been in the Buj since you were five? An arm bar? Really? Which ryu-ha does it come from? What exactly did you mean by this then: See to me the above is almost trying to insinuate that you used "Ninjutsu" in the ring but now you've said differently. As for you prediction well it and how you've phrased it seems to indicate you lack some knowledge in that area, especially if you've been training since five. Who was/is your Shidoshi? Do you have one of the little green membership cards for every year you've been training? You must have a lot!
Taking Ninjutsu into the Ring could mean several things. 1. Who am I fighting and what are they capable of? 2. Where's the venue, how do I get there, and where's the locker room? 3. What time do I need to set my alarm for tomorrow? :hat:
Any chance of addressing my other questions? You know like actually giving some detail in your responses. After all you've been training since you were five.
