Pink Belt?

    It made we wonder ... Do any martial art systems actually use a pink belt?

    Also, are there any good stories or joke or anything about pink belts? I know the Master's wife at our studio has a pink belt she wears for halloween; thats the only time I've ever seen a pink belt.

    Anyone know anything?

    I dont know for any but sure it is a good idea for punishment!!

    You are tough! Ok, take of that belt an wear the pinky one! Or even pinky kimono..hihi

    We have a pink belt that our teacher makes you wear if you forget your actual belt....its done in good humor, but is still embarrassing enough to serve as a memory aid for next time. At my other dojo, one of the senior instructors will tie the **** out of your belt if you leave it in the changing room overnight (mostly only for blackbelts though).

    What makes you think that yellow, green, blue, red or whatever other colours you wear don't have exactly the same connotations in the culture your art is from?

    That's not a serious question, but I've just typed a very similar response in another board and the point is that the colours are just arbitrary markers of rank. What the colour actually is shouldn't matter.

    I think a pink belt is kinda cute. :) I'd wear one.

    I approve of this pink belt practical joke rumor. I also approve of making the belt forgetters wear the pink loaner belt. Good times. :)
