Some interesting rumours surfaced yesterday about possible new rules in 2017. The full story is here http://www.judoinside.com/news/1806/New_rule_rumours_yuko_disappears_4_wazari_for_the_victory , but in brief the big rumours are: Yukos are gone and will now be counted as Wazaris You now need 4 Wazaris for Ippon A no scoring contest cannot be decided by shido (at last) First incidental leg touch will only be penalised as a shido (removing all those nasty controversial DQs) What are people's thoughts? I quite like them.

Not a big fan of fingers in the sleeve. Of course, one can choose not to use that grip. I like the same sided grip though.
Yeah, i think it's a pragmatic rule change. You don't get additional control from that grip, and it's a risk that the player can choose to take. I also think this rule was not officiated with a huge amount of consistency - same as pistol grips, so I'm glad it is gone.
