what does Silat Harimau Minangkabau through the Guru De Bordes lineage consist of? Does it place emphasis on striking mainly or grappling and locks. Just a bit curious.
They have lots of stuff on Youtube. Lots of takedowns....definitely a very punishing system. I have an old seminar from over twenty years ago on tape. The things he does to the guy he demonstrated the techniques on still make me cringe. I have my instructor certificate from Guru De-Bourdes,his system is very comprehensive and imho the emphasis is on combat effectiveness,it is very hard work on the legs as there are many low postures and leaping techniques based on the Tiger, its a very nice and very rewarding style of training

supposedly there is quite a bit of influence of Setia Hati in there as well. There was some contact between Guru de Bordes, his teacher Hanafi and Pak Turpijn from the Netherlands Edit: sorry i'm referring to the specific system of Harimau of guru Richard de Bordes
