    Hello everyone!

My Mestre just visited for our grading a few weeks ago and he told us a story about how we should take pride in the fact that our group can be traced back to one of the two Great Mestres in Capoeira (Mestre Pastinha). Apparently my Mestre was taught by Mestre Joao Pequeno who was the person who carried on Mestre Pastinha's legacy after his death. I was just wondering if anyone has any similarly colorful stories about their groups.

My group was initially under Mestre Moraes, student of Mestre Joao Grande, student of Mestre Pastinha. I will say that while Bimba and Pastinha are the most widely recognized Mestres historically, that there were a lot of Mestres with lineages that are still extant that are part of capoeira's history. Mestres like Aberre, Waldemar, Cobrinha Verde, Caicara, Canjiquinha, Noronha, Lua de Bobo and many others.
