It's apparently an obscure art in my area. :/ Anyone here know how to find a teacher? I'll try any sort of fencing-epee, sabre, etc, etc. Just looking to diversify my sword skills and do more sparring/competing. Thanks!
There's a HEMA club, which is probably a better bet for developing swordsmanship. www.phoenixswordclub.com
On the sports side of fencing, Fencing.net lists something like 8 clubs in the city. http://www.fencing.net/fencing-clubs/ I really like what I have seen from the Phoenix Society group that Ben linked you to.
I know the folks at the Phoenix club personally. They come all the way up to our tournament in Calgary every year. Fantastic fighters. If you go, please say "hi" to Richard, John and the gang. You could not do much better HEMA-wise. Richard is a very gifted instructor and a tricky man to fence. He is also just a hell of a good human being in every respect. They are some of my favourite HEMA folks, bar none.
