OK, so if you could only train one strike for each arm and leg, what would it be? if you pick a punch with one arm you can still elbow with that same arm, but it must use the same basic movement, same goes for knees. How would what you pick affect all other aspects of your fighting? such as grappling footwork defense etc. I dont know why i made this thread, just bored. my pick would be jab and cross, but with palm strikes, front snap kick, and roundhouse.
Jab (Left Hand) - Body Hook (Right Hand) - Front Kick (Left Leg Lead) - Thai Roundhouse (Right Leg Rear)
Interesting. I'm right-handed in real life but fight southpaw. I'd switch the two punches: lead jab/straight, rear hook.
Southpaw here, Right jab, Left cross, right lead hook, left body hook. Bread and butter stuff would like some elbow, headbutts and knee/kicks but if forced with only four techniques I would stick with these. Plenty of variants on combinations plus SD wise most fights start at conversation range so hands striking wise are a priority.
I am right hand dominant but love fighting from southpaw. The whole 'power side forward' philosopy. So; Right hand back fist Right leg side kick Left leg teep or jamming kick (target knees or hips) Left cross
I am a southpaw - totally left sided -hand, foot, even left eye dominant. I prefer a traditional stance. I never understood why. I don't feel nearly as comfortable in a southpaw stance. Although I try to do both. Is that it? Power side forward? Not really familiar with that philosophy. Makes sense. Sorry, really have no answer for OP.
Left jab, right hook (probably more of a body shot actually), left front leg push kick, right mawashi geri/roundhouse. Same here actually. Though my left leg kicks much harder than my right. So occasionally I'll switch between left/right forward just to stick the boot in someone.
Front hand, Hiraken (palm facing up) to the windpipe. Back hand heelpalm to the side of the jaw. Front leg Yoko Geri back leg Mae Geri (so I can knee at close range with same movement).
I only ever fought with five, so this is easy. Hook punch, side kick, roundhouse kick, and hook kick, all on the front leg and arm. Like Holy, I'm southpaw too (by choice).
Lead (right) hook because I use it as a counter far too much, left jumping cross, rear leg mid thai, front leg step through low thai.
