I've just checked their gig listing. They're playing everywhere except where I live. It's always the way. :(

I saw Hayseed Dixie about 6 months ago. They were quite good to see live.

Speaking of English bands ( though I have to tell ya, the Stupids sound like Yanks, lol ) I've heard these luvs have recently reformed.

Wonder if they'll do this one?

Yes, they just played here at the same festival that The Stupids played. It was a different night and I couldn't be bothered to go again though as they were the only decent band.

They've played (to my knowledge) pretty much since they formed in the early 80s. I saw them about 12 years ago in Prague. I think their break up was only a few years ago.

Haha. Well, that was the thing about The Stupids, they brought US style hardcore punk to the UK when it was full of CRASS and Conflict clones. (Thank God they did that!)

Chaos UK - Gotta love this. It even has the theme from the Moomins.

They always had a silly element to their music.

Great selection of their stuff - they are one of my fav's - that includes all the 'non-punk' fav's, as well.

Alas I never saw them live - one of many I missed. Chaos UK's shows look like right fun - you *******, how'd ya manage to see everyone in the book worth seeing?? Hmmm? ;)

I didn't attend shows during what would have been the prime gig-attending years. Someone pop'd me what must've been a 1-2 combo of several different 3 - letter hallucinogens when I was a kid attending a concert and I don't think I was too keen on the experience ( did I tell you this already? seems like it ) and didn't want nothing of music halls for a long time afterwards.

For whatever reason, I lost out on many of these when they - okay, we - were in our primes.

Yes, its the silly element in juxtaposition with the dangerous that is so appealing.

Not really. I got into punk / HC in the mid-80s. I was living in Cyprus at the time so there was no gigs. By the time we got back to the UK, '88, a lot of the greats were calling it a day about that time. I'd give my right nut to have lived in Huntington Beach in the late 70s / early 80s when bands like Black Flag and TSOL were causing havoc! (Saw TSOL last year actually ;) )

Stoke, my hometown, is pretty rubbish really, but it's smack bang in the middle of England. So as soon as I got my license, I bought a car and went to any half decent gig I could in Manchester, Derby, Notts, B'ham, L'pool, Sheffield. I was happy to drive and get my mates to pay the petrol and throw me a quid extra each for the ticket. They got to the gig and could get drunk, I got to see a ton of bands for next to nothing; Win win and good times!

The odd thing is everyone and their dog is reforming these days. It's not quite the same, but it is a close second.

Yeah, we read the story of your concert experience in the "gig" thread. It will be remembered for a long time to come. :)

Chaos UK were great from what I can remember. I was very drunk. Did take them to a bar after the gig and got in an even bigger mess!

I was never much for the UK82 or Anarcho-punk bands that came out the UK, but these guys are cracking and excellent live.

The whole concert is on YouTube (Punks and Poseurs) and worth watching. The Dickies, who played with them, are on it too.

Love the bass line on this one.

Been really stressed out recently. I'm doing a rotation in a new lab, making all kinds of new mistakes. Teaching a couple of classes and my kids are all great, but I keep worrying that I'll tell them the wrong thing and they'll do worse on a test because of me. Lots of classes to take, and I've been thrown into a new town where I don't know anyone. Here's my solution:
