    johndoch,
learn the heians well and kanku dai is easy, quite a few of the strange bits from the heians are in it, just getting them in the wrong order is my problem.

grrrrr learning a kata i dont need until my 18th birthday :( :woo:

You can print out the Shotokan forms on this site
    http://paperwindow.com/tkd/shotokan/heian1.htm (scroll on the left)

As you can see there is are various kata in various styles .... http://www.angelfire.com/sk/budokai/Katainfo.html ... I am just wondering why you aren't fousing on learning the forms of the martial art you are currently training in before "doing something" in an entirely different style which perhaps will confuse you even more.

... and perhaps you can also refrain from calling other katas "junk". If you aren't happy learning TKD poomses/hyungs then change styles because that attitude has no place in learning.

    ....thank you

    Hi Kickchick,

    Thank you for the links!!

I call them "junk" because the stuff I am being taught now is. I have taken TKD before and know how good it could be, but, the fact is that my instructor hardly spends any time explaining anything to do with hyungs. He sorta shows you once and then your on your own. I learn nothing from it. Therefore, it is junk. However, I have taken karate a lot longer than I have taken TKD so i feel more comfortable learning those types of kata's on my own. It's more my style.

Also, the class i am in now seems to focus on point sparring. I am more interested in "martial arts" than "sports". The class i am in now is not "martial" or "artsy" it is sporty. We do a lot of cardio conditioning. I hate sports. Never have liked them. No football, no baseball, no basketball. Nothing.

    So WHY DO I STAY?!?!

    1. It's FREE!! with my gym membership.
    2. I HATE to run more than I hate the class and I need some cardio in my workout.
    3. I like the instructor's personally and I would hate to have to explain to them why I stopped coming.
    4. I like the classmates.

    MM
