Some rather nice scoring techniques here from the last ESKF European karate championships [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbyA7WAfWCA"]2013 ESKA - Kumite Highlights - YouTube[/ame]
One of my old favourite vids. It's fairly old and pretty long but IMO pretty fascinating. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VTnzXLIEiw"]Power training of Goju Ryu Karate - YouTube[/ame]
Following on with the Goju Ryu theme, here a short video showcasing some Bunkai for Seiyunchin Kata (Note: Although Goju Ryu is not Iain's style, he has been nice enough to include a few of their Kata in his recent teachings) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdsRQixRqv0"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdsRQixRqv0[/ame] Regards, Travess
I might be a bit biased because this is Great Britain beating Japan in 1990, but I find this to be a really exciting set of team matches. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdDOuW8cm88"]JKA 1990 England Men Team Kumite Final JAPAN vs ENGLAND - YouTube[/ame]

It's a nicely produced video, but I'm a little bit dubious of the effectiveness of the combinations you demonstrate. Especially the three kicks off one leg - it's a useful training exercise to build leg strength and teach students to control their leg after a kick , but I wouldn't try and sell it as an actually useful combination attack.
Well everyone has a different style that they use when they fight. I myself prefer to rely off of counters and movement mixed with defense, but in my future videos I will use a lot of the things I'm using in this in order to show that it can work if you just practice for it to be natural and instinctive. When you get to a good level of sparring, you'll understand when should or shouldnt do something all together. But just keep an eye on the channel and I'll get more content out there.
Welcome to MAP. Please note we don't allow links back to personal sites, so you'll not be allowed to just post videos you make. We have The Technique Thread, so you could post there. You will be permitted a video elsewhere if it is relevant to the discussion.
I apologise in advance if I'm wrong, but I don't think the techniques you're using in those videos are ones that you could pull off in a dynamic situation. Firstly, it looks like your hamstrings are too tight to safely carry out those kicks - particularly, your high roundhouse kicks look like they're jerking against the limits of your hamstring flexibility and could hurt your legs in the long term. You're also falling away from your partner after the ushiro geri, which suggests that there's not much force going into your opponent (as the main vector of force is away from them) and there's a real danger that you would fall over if you made contact, as your balance is compromised. As I say, I could be wrong, but even if you're a good karateka, those combinations don't show you at your best.
