    Hi All,

I have been trying to find a YouTube video of a particular boxing footwork drill that I have seen some boxers use, but have not been able to probably because I do not know its name.

The drill involves the boxer stepping and doing pivots while throwing punches but the boxer stays on straight lines that bisect each other at right angles. In other words a + pattern. Does anyone know the name or where I may see a video? I would like to practice it.

    Thank you

Not sure exactly, but if you search for "Pivot and T Frame boxing" you might find something like what you are looking for.

Here is just the T Frame:

    Just add pivoting and punches.

Thanks for the response - useful video - but that is not it. Any other ideas?

Have you had a chance to look at any of Simon's footwork and sparring drills. This is the first but there are several more in the series.

Can't go wrong with Simon's footwork videos.

OP, are any of the patterns for footwork in the following video?

Punchy, is this the sort of thing you're after - from 3:15?

Here is an explanation for why it's important to roll away, rather than just turning and remaining bolt upright.

Thanks to my student, Paul for assisting here.

Hold on bro, I know exactly what your talking about, its a drill used at some boxing clubs, we use at my M.a. class and we call them boxing jacks, in fact in some ways all it is is switch stepping while punching or even kicking, TKD tourny fighters do it alot too I think, but look up boxing jacks and youll find what your looking for.
