Today, this. And so should you, regardless of your musical taste. Then you should thank your power of choice for BB King and everything he has done for you, and every musician since he first picked up a guitar. I was listening to some old crust all day, until I saw a really beautiful orange bird on the balcony railings. Hearing birds sing in the spring is such a great sound after months of cold and darkness. Seeing the little feathery fella reminded me of this... i saw b.b. play, boy must have been over 20 years ago at an amphitheater in the chicago area. he was absolutely amazing. at a time i thought gee he's old.
Holy... moly... That man, along with Louis Armstrong, were the two greatest soloists of the 20th century. I include all classical musicians in this, sorry, but their conversational style and prosody ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosody_(linguistics) ) make, to my mind, the greatest solo players of the last couple of centuries, whether you enjoy their music or not. I feel very privileged to have seen BB King a couple of years ago. I always presumed he'd be dead before I got the chance. I hope that, when I am an old man, that will be seen in the same way as people who saw Chopin perform.

Hah. I was debating what to post - Peaches or (Get a) Grip (on Yourself). Both fantastic songs. There's some great stories about there early days, as you probably know. Burnel: A guy called Philippe Manoeuvre – who's now head of the biggest music magazine in France – was always bugging me. One day, he turned up at our hotel demanding an interview, so I agreed – if we could do it at the Eiffel Tower. We took his trousers off, gaffer-taped him to one of the girders and left him there to be photographed by Japanese tourists. It was only the first floor. Admittedly, that is 400ft off the ground. Black: He wasn't best pleased. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/mar/12/stranglers-40-years-fights-drugs-ufos
