seen this recently that sai are apparently in some kung fu traditions. Im not opposed to the idea considering the same weapon or similar ones exist in martial arts outside of kobudo, but can someone name any styles that use them?

Come to think about it, I think I saw some at the Hung Gar class I checked out in liverpool on display

They're pretty much ubiquitous in styles from Fujian, some Cantonese systems use them too, notably Hung Fut, Southern mantis and village Hung Gar.

I think they're called tjabang in Southeast Asian systems. Though I wouldn't say that they're commonly used.

Lots of kung fu systems have them. I used them in white crane and wah lum. Seen them in lots of other, mostly southern, systems. They are often considered a substitute or variation for iron rulers and hard whips.
