Love the ska posts, Ned. These are two of my faves.

Here's a good instructional video if any one wants to learn to dance to the above music. The commentary to dance step 4 is unintentionally hilarious...if you have the mind of a 12 year old male.

    Y..yyyeahh....okay.

I kinda wished I'd not listened to this because I suddenly remembered that Silver Rain did fall when I died and a little deeper in the empty void I knew that when you die, and you fall in the crushing still flatness a little more, you have nightmares in death and that is a terrible, terrible thing to know.

Its what causes the memory/consciousness/soul to try and reincarnate to escape knowing that.

All the religions speak of the rebirth of the soul as some natural, erudite state of Nirvana, but its not ... its the soul tearing itself out of the crushing and flat void, like a beast chewing its arm off in order to escape a metal-claw trap because its dead and has come to the awful realisation that there are nightmares in death.

Eternal damnation is knowing. Knowing that you have been dead for eternities - our carbon-based brains can't perceive time in its absolute truth so it plays tricks on us, to convince us, to comfort us from the horrid truth.

When I was a child, I read something called the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Then I dreamed I read something in it and then I dreamed it again.

But I don't remember it. Except I remember that right before I read in it, I already knew what it was going to say and that made me sad.

    Wow, heavy

Could've been a bad DMT trip courtesy of your pineal gland...

...or a whole number of different things: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/peace-of-mind-near-death/

I've never died, but have had a fair few experiences that I just knew were real, but probably weren't, if you get my meaning. [EDIT: my meaning isn't that I've tripped my face off on DMT, in case that's how it came across!]

Depeche Mode - Playing the Angel
A fairly solid release on the heels of 2 disappointing cd's (Ultra, Exciter) A nice effort from DM.

    Neil Diamond - Tennessee Moon
Neil goes country. Actually a good CD, if you like Neil Diamond. Duets with Waylon, Willie, and a re-make of Kentucky Woman.

Well...that's my dog and my signature, so...

I've awoken in the early hours before and either worked on logged on to MAP, but I've always been lucid enough to recall having done so, lol.

I suppose it possible to be in a state of sleep and still be able to function - perform tasks as if they were awake ... I must have been asleep and dreaming somehow.

Obviously, no more late-night celery sticks for me.

The Pink Fairies, lol. Another underrated and overlooked great from the period. "Uncle [Belltoller's] Last Freakout", lol.

I think one of the members played with Lemmy in Hawkwind at some point.

Went to see DM at the SECC centre in Glasgow during the playing the Angel tour, wasn't hoping for much. A friend from London asked me to go with her. It was an amazing concert and i was surpried at how many DM songs i knew. I am now a fan.

Second best concert i have been too after U2's 360 concert at Hampden.
