Hi guys, I live in brisbane australia, and found out about this devestating system, Goshinkwai Yawara. Looks pretty solid and from what I've read so far, I assume it's what the British SAS use? I could be wrong though. But anyway I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any Australian locations, more specificly in brisbane as I can only find info on UK dojo's. If not avalible would anyone know of something similar in my location? Please help!!! Thanks!

I've practiced a lot of similar techniques. I don't like the overhooking an arm as a control when a blade is involved though. Leaves too much freedom for drawing cuts on your back.
Knife defence was appalling. Over-sold responses, advertised and unrealistic attacks, "uke freeze' after delivering aforementioned sloppy attacks, tori moving in to do the technique PRIOR to the attack...the list goes on
I notice a suspicious lack of response from the OP...you don't think...I mean..he couldn't have been spamming could he????
Thanks for the constructive critique guys ! I'm sure as experienced combatative practitioners you are aware that these are just demonstational clips for the general public. Its always a difficult call what to show within the wider media as we want people to actually turn up and train with us. Within our classes we instruct to the level of students present. As students progress, so does the intensity of the training and drills, including controlled non-complient opponent training. I'm very open for people to come along to any of the classes in South Wales or London to experience iy first hand and am always open minded to learn from more experienced people also. Best Regards Alun
My friend is a practitioner, Its great! He shown me some pretty cool stuff. there is a chanel on youtube called wizydoofer that have some kinda cool stuff on there(some pretty bad aswell). But it's definately worth practicing. It's like a hybrid of goshin jujitsu and yawara jujitsu. You could try looking for a jusitsu dojo?
Goshinkwai Please people, understand that Total body defence is nothing to do with Goshinkwai Yawara Remmei, some of the members trained in the organisation at some time but have since stopped, their youtube video's are nothing to do with Goshinkwai and should not be compared. The official Goshinkwai site is on Facebook and all references should be taken from there. Goshinkwai clubs operate from Pontypool, Abersychan and Brithdir, our annual seminar is at Pontypool leisure centre on 7th of May 3 till 5 pm, all welcome. Cheers
