    This thread will be updated as our members around the world post links to sites they've found helpful, but as we're UK based we'll start there.

    Please note that each organisation differs in practice and MAP isn't making any judgments in regard to quality or manner of service provided.

    NHS Choices is a fantastic site with links to websites and contact numbers for the following:

    Anxiety UK

    Charity providing support if you've been diagnosed with an anxiety condition.

    A charity helping people living with manic depression or bipolar disorder.

    CALM

    CALM is the Campaign Against Living Miserably, for men aged 15-35.

    Depression Alliance

    Charity for sufferers of depression. Has a network of self-help groups.

    Mental Health Foundation

    Provides information and support for anyone with mental health problems or learning disabilities.

    Mind

    Promotes the views and needs of people with mental health problems.

    No Panic

    Voluntary charity offering support for sufferers of panic attacks and OCD. Offers a course to help overcome your phobia/OCD. Includes a helpline.

    OCD Action

    Support for people with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Includes information on treatment and online resources.

    Young suicide prevention society.

    Rethink Mental Illness

    Support and advice for people living with mental illness.

    Samaritans

    Confidential support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair.

    Sane

    Charity offering support and carrying out research into mental illness.

    YoungMinds

    Information on child and adolescent mental health. Services for parents and professionals.

    The site also offers support on eating disorders, bereavement, alzheimers, crime and various other topics.

    MIND is a fantastic organisation that is actually helping one of my own friends.

    They can be contacted on 0300 123 3393, or you can text them on 86463.

    They have a great FAQ page.

    The Samaritans are there for you 24 hours a day.

    In the UK you can call them on 116 123, which is a free phone number and it doesn't show up on your phone bill.

    Anorexia & Bulemia Care can be contacted on 03000 11 12 13.

    Option 1 is the support line.

    Option 2 is for family and friends.

    PTSD UK is an charity that can ne contacted on 01282 787 172.

    Alcohol Abuse can be contacted on 0800 024 1475, or 0203 131 8321, or you can text 66777.
