What is lifting a weight from the ground over your head called

    What kind of press is it when you lift a barbell with weights (say 200 pounds, 100 on each side) from the ground to your waist, then up and over your head called?

    Yup, pointy has it right. Clean and jerk because the overhead motion isn't, technically, a press.

    (push the bar from the shoulders overhead while squatting deep under it)

    It's a great lift if done properly lol! Clean and Jerk, Snatch and everything associated with them gets you strong.
