I've just added "Better Call Saul" to my ever expanding list of TV shows to get through. If you're a fan of "Breaking Bad" then you'll know what this show is about. For everyone else, it's still a pretty good show (so far) in its own right but I'd wager that you'd get a lot more out of it if you watch the exploits of Walter White before hand.

Finished it today. That's a pretty good show. I love the "L" character. Dude is full-on awesomeness. I gotta try the two-part L spin-off just to get some more of him, and then try the story done from the point of view of Ryuk. That should be interesting. Ryuk is way cool in his own way. :)

I've been watching Mr Selfridge.. I'm ever so slightly reluctant to admit I'm enjoying it. I'm completely refusing to watch Indian Summer though, her indoors has to watch it on her own.

Got into "Angel" a few days ago, as in the spin-off from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in the late 90's. When "Buffy" was new I watched the first season only, and I never gave "Angel" a try.

I'm enjoying it very much due to Charisma Carpenter (the character Cordelia). She is a pleasure to watch, and not just because she's smoking hot. Her facial expressions and her gestures and her tone and her cadences are constantly perfect for the script. She is amazing. And of course it helps that the script is fantastic, too. I'm constantly geeking out over what they're saying -- the language is just so beautiful.

We'll see how long Joss Whedon can keep this up. I'm 8 or 9 episodes into it, and I've figured out that Whedon fell into "the monster of the week" theory for how to run a tv show. :( That's going to get old.

That used to be such a great series. Shame the last few seasons haven't been up to scratch.

    Don't worry, won't stay like that ^^
    But I won't spoil anything, don't worry.

And I agree: Cordelias character and her actor were a perfect match!

I watched the first three episodes of Black Sails so far and really like the show.
My only gripe so far was, that the lady who runs the island (I forgot her name  ) had to jump into bed with "everyone" (I know, not everyone, but it felt like that within the short time); she was so kicking butt in the beginning, that I would have it preferred if she wouldn't have done that.

Are you watching season 1 or 2?

    Season 1.
A buddy lend it to me; I have to admit I haven't heard of it before.

Ok. I can't remember it. Watched it a few weeks ago though.

Season 2 seems better. they've cut down on all the pointless sex stuff and focused on the story and political side of things.

    Sound better indeed.
But again, to be fair, I only watched three episodes so far, and the was biggest issue I had with it so far.
It seems to be a good and enjoyable show overall ^^

I don't have any actual knowledge (or at least nothing I would call that) but I do enjoy watching and reading about it.
I don't necessarily mind, if it historical incorrect, unless it gets too extreme.

Never watched Spartacus aside from a few scenes the same buddy showed me, ho borrowed be Black Sails.
It was... not sure, what to call it ;)

Nothing is going to be 100% historically accurate, so as long as it's not too silly, I don't mind.

What would you call Spartacus? Bad soft porn pretending to be a drama series?

Funny: I saw like three scenes: Something very, very close to an orgy in a brothel, a fight scene and

Lucy Lawless killing herself with a baby.
(I think think might be a major thing in the show, not sure, so I wanted to be sure not to spoil anything for people, who want to watch it and still be surprised ^^ )

So, yeah, the description seems to be spooky accurate.

Then again, those three scenes were pretty much it.
I couldn't be bothered too much afterwards.

I really like Angel, it's got lots of fun episodes and I think the ending is very good.

A 13 episode series covering the universe in its complex glory. It is stunningly beautiful.

Angel ended up, in my opinion, being more enjoyable than Buffy in the later series. It took a little while to start getting exciting but once *insert spoilers here* started happening, it made a massive difference.

And after a while they abandon the "monster of the week" theme and focus more on having an actual story. Some of which is probably going to make you a little sad :p
