Mitch Lord Mitch of MAP Admin

Some of you may already know of Stephanie Inglis, a judoka and Commonwealth Games medallist.

She has been in Vietnam teaching English to children there, and has unfortunately suffered severe head injuries in an accident on her way to the school where she worked.

Her travel insurance is not covering her medical fees, which are considerable, and so a fundraising effort has begun to help meet her bills and get her the treatment she needs to have any hope of survival.

To find out more you can read the article on the BBC website here.

Should you wish to donate, you can do so via the go fund me page mentioned in the BBC article, here.

There will be the opportunity to win some equipment at the MAP Meet, with all proceeds going to the fund. Simon and I will be shamelessly shaking our collection tin there too.

    Thanks folks.

I spoke to Paralympic Judo champion Ian Rose today regarding this.

Ian is a supporter of the MAP Meet and will be taking a session on the 21st.

He doesn't know Stephanie, but loves the idea of raising a little extra money to help he get through this terrible situation.

Ian has said he'll contact the British Judo Association after the even to let them know how generous you've all been.

This could have been anyone of us and as fellow martial artists I'd ask you to donate a few extra pennies on the day.

I'll rummage through my gym tomorrow to find some training equipment that we'll raffle on next week.

If any of you want to make a donation, but aren't attending the MAP Meet, then follow the link posted by Mitch.

Please make a note here and I'll make sure Ian knows how much we've raised.

Mitch and I have dug deep and will be holding a raffle at the MAP Meet to win the following items.

10 Thai pads, a maize ball and chains, a ROK skipping rope, a kick shield, some small cones for your footwork drills and a heavy close node Eskrima stick.

That must be a few hundred pounds worth of gear for a donation to the raffle.

I'll add the Kickboxing trousers & Kickboxing boots that I won my British title in. Only been used once!

Got an almost new pair of Everlast Boxing gloves that you can add to the prize pool too.

I have found a new pair of RDX MMA shorts I'll add to the mix.

They still have the tag on them.

Utterly fantastic news. Hopefully this means she is on the mend and will be competing again in due course.

They would have been well received.

Stephanie has taken another leap forward by venturing out to Nandos to celebrate her sister's birthday.

The Stephanie Inglis fund was set up by her friend Khalid Gehlan.

Stephanie tried to return his amazing gesture by nominating him for Scot of the year.

    Quite rightfully he won.

Some of you will have been around long enough to remember the incredible Stephanie Inglis story and how you guys donated and helped her come back home to recover from her horrific accident.

Here is an update to brighten your day.

    Steph has just got married.
