Can anyone recommend any books about human evolution? I wouldn't mind reading up on the subject. Preferably modern texts and for the lay man. Dawkins, although I agree with a lot of his opinions (or does he agree with mine?), gets on my nerves a bit. I'd rather read something else. There's a ton of book out there, but where do I start? It's a big area. I'm also not interested in the evolution vs. creationism debate. Just thought I'd bold that...It'll still probably be ignored.
I do not know if Steve Jones has written a book on human evolution but he is definitely the acceptable face of genetics for those who find Dawkings a bit of a pain (and who doesn't).
its not just about evolution, but I found this an exceptional book - [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belief-God-Good-Bad-Irrelevant/dp/0830833773/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_y"]Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant?: A Professor and a Punk Rocker Discuss Science, Religion, Naturalism & Christianity: Amazon.co.uk: Preston Jones: Books[/ame]
