Don't apply ice directly to the wound, as there is a risk of burning.

Wrap the ice in a cloth to protect the skin.

Use a bag of peas rather than ice cubes, as they mould better to the face.

After a couple of days you can apply a warm compress, which draws blood to the affected area.

Make sure you get enough vitamins and minerals in your diet.

Any problems after a couple of days get checked out by a doctor.

    Hope that helps somewhat.

One other thing. Never apply a steak to the face.

Ice but not direct, get heat later and eat well- not getting punched will also help

expect wierd looks from strangers, and a few difficult conversations with coworkers.

also dont say as a joke your partner has a temper........

    people remember things like that.

I have in the past used a bit of my wife's concealer on a light black eye.
Or for a proper shiner wear a pair of shades like a pro
( although you risk looking like a douche if you try wearing them inside :p).

I would have went with that as well.

Living with and not focussing on it.
