Looking for a bit of advice. Recently started Kickboxing again after a few years off.

After doing a few kicks in a recent training session I have been struggling with round house kicks. My quads are very tight at the top and I find it difficult to twist my hips to get the kick done.

Jumping round house is fine and other kicks are ok but still very tight.

Any stretching advice would be great
    Cheers

Are you sure it's your quads that are tight? Do you get any lower back pain or discomfort as well? If so it could be more to do with the hip flexor than the actual quad.

From a quick google, give this a try. It's a good stretch for the flexor and you might find it eases up.

Can't say I get any pain in the lower back really. Seems to be that I can bring leg up ready to kick but once there the movement to rotate the hip the pain is at the top of my legs.

Will check the link and try to stretch out more and warm down more might help

    Cheers
